BELFOR Property Restoration’s Florida teams donated 12 Plexiglas protective barriers to The College of the Florida Keys (CFK) last week. After learning that the College was experiencing difficulty in procuring barriers needed to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at service countertops, BELFOR fabricated the clear panels and sent representatives to personally deliver them. The College previously contracted with BELFOR in 2017 to recover from damage to the Key West Campus caused by Hurricane Irma.

“College employees are preparing our facilities to safely re-open. However, it has been challenging to acquire some materials and equipment needed,” said CFK President Dr. Jonathan Gueverra. “We are grateful to our partners at BELFOR for quickly coming to our aid. Their donations will help us create a safer campus environment for our students, employees, and community.”

“We are proud to partner with and support The College of the Florida Keys,” said Jason McGlinchey, BELFOR Florida General Manager. “After a long, hot clean-up day following Hurricane Irma, Dr. and Mrs. Gueverra made homemade ice cream for our entire disaster recovery crew in their home with no power and no roof. That meant a lot to us. We are more than happy to return their goodwill gesture and to contribute to the safety of the CFK campus by providing the protective barriers. We appreciate The College of the Florida Keys and the entire Florida College System’s long-term relationship. At BELFOR we are committed to finding solutions for our clients and when Dr. G reached out to me for help, we were humbled, honored and happy to assist!”
