KEY WEST, FL, October 22, 2026— The College of the Florida Keys (CFK) invites Monroe County high school students and their parents to a virtual information session on Thursday, November 5 at 5:30 p.m. to learn how Dual Enrollment can save families time and money on a path to a college degree or career certificate. 

Dual Enrollment provides qualified high school students the opportunity to enroll free of charge in college courses to earn both college credit and credit toward high school graduation. The virtual session will cover the benefits of Dual Enrollment classes, eligibility requirements, and how to apply. 

“High school students can earn college and high school credits at the same time, at no cost to the family,” said Marissa Owens, Manager of Recruitment at CFK. “That can save families thousands of dollars. By comparison, the average cost of attendance for two years at a Florida public university for an in-state student living on-campus is over $52,000.”

Dual Enrollment also helps high school students acclimate to college rigor and get a headstart toward a degree or a certificate leading to a wide range of in-demand careers. Dual Enrollment is available at all CFK locations.
