CFK will be closed March 16 - March 24 for Spring Break

At The College of the Florida Keys, going to college is about more than just going to classes. That's why we encourage student and faculty participation in extracurricular activities and organizations. The following clubs are currently registered and chartered at CFK and are open for membership by any CFK student who has enrolled in at least two courses during the academic year.

 

Aquaculture Society

Aquaculture Club works to further national aquaculture societies outreach, providing benefits, activities, and news to students at CFK. This club provides increased opportunity for students to organize and participate in activities that relate to aquaculture on a local scale.

Culinary Club

Do you love to cook? Do you want to learn how? If your answer to either of those questions is yes, the CFK Culinary Club is for you! Students will learn to cook, raise money through making food products, and use their revenues to explore the amazing world of food!

Geeks and Gamers Club

is a social networking club that connects students in a fun-filled environment. As a club, the students will discuss topics related to gaming, film, TV, technology in a socratic forum as well as partake in book reviews, board games and competitions.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

The mission of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize academic achievement of college students and to provide opportunities for them to grow as scholars and leaders. Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society is open to students who have completed at least 12 credits of coursework and have a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Phi Theta Kappa members are privy to exclusive scholarship opportunities applied both at the current community college as well as the transfer institution. The Society also provides opportunities for personal and professional development and leadership. Membership fee is $82.00.

Mud Pi Club

Mud Pi Club is a student-based, extracurricular organization dedicated to advancing ceramic arts at CFK, and surrounding communities. The purpose of the club is to expand the awareness of the ceramic arts and to support personal growth through self-expression in clay.

is a vibrant campus ministry that establishes and advances the mission of restoring prudence, morality, fortitude, and temperance on campus and in the community.

Scuba Club

Scuba Club and Coral Restoration have merged to unite CFK students through passion for the underwater world and to build connections within the environment. The club educates and builds awareness of the importance of these ecosystems through scuba diving events, community service, outreach efforts, and other fun activities.

Special Olympics College Club

CFK’s Olympics for all club’s goal is to support Special Olympics athletes, to be cheerleaders, friends and spread knowledge on interacting with individuals with disabilities. Our vision is to have a unique group of students working together as a team; to support each other, become mentors and to build lifelong friendships.

Student Government Association

The purpose of the SGA shall be to unify clubs on campus and in the context of a nurturing environment, promote cultural and social events beneficial to the student populous. Its duties shall also include coordinating student activities, promoting an intellectual interest in all phase of the college life, increasing the sense of individual responsibility among the student body, and encouraging cooperation between the students and the administration. The SGA shall act as a liaison through which student issues, thoughts, and concerns are conveyed to the administration, faculty, and staff.

Student Nurse Association (SNA)

The Student Nurse Association (SNA) is a local chapter of the National Student Nurse Association. The mission of the Key West chapter is to support the community through education, advocacy, and wellness activities.

Veterans Club

is a local chapter of the Student Veterans of America and is dedicated to helping fellow veterans in the transition from military to college life. The CFK VA Club promotes and encourages retired soldiers, active military, and their families to join in social events. The focus of this club is to enrich the community and the campus with veteran sponsored and patriotic events while creating a sense of unity and pride at the College of the Florida Keys.

Creative Writing Club

Is a place where CFK students can come together and appreciate the joys of writing. The Creative Writing Clubs purpose is to create and support a community of writers on campus to share throughout the community.

Swim Team

Competes in regular season against other Florida colleges and with colleges from around the country in national meets.  CFK is a member of NJCAA which allows the College’s athletes to participate in a variety of activities that promote personal growth, effective teamwork, and academic excellence. The College supports teams for both women and men.
